What can we say about them?
Coming from an era of big-budget, over-the-top imagery from larger-than-life (and, let’s fess up, mostly attractive) performers, I steadfastly resisted video. I have a face for radio, as the saying goes.
But a few things happened around 2017 – 2018, and despite still feeling Mirrors owed me a refund, I had no fucks left to give. So, I bravely (or stupidly, you be the judge) decided to do a video with (gasp) myself front and center.
Thankfully, doing the video on my own, IF the video was really cringe (see, I do keep with the “kids”), I could erase it and never speak of such foolishness again. But I didn’t cringe. I thought it was fun in a retro, silly, throw-back kind of way. So, I embraced the medium for better or worse (I realize the vast majority are voting for worse). Of course, I was about 10 years too late to really monetize my YouTube channel. (you could take pity on an old man and subscribe, tell your friends to subscribe, and see if we can get my creaky subscription count to crawl, kicking and screaming, over the magical 1,001 mark eventually)
Also, this isn’t your vertical TikTok shit. I’m old. I’ll own it. I HATE those hand-held vertical offerings with stupid filters. (fun side note: for artists of my “stature,” Tik-Tok don’t pay shit)
